Lab Member Spotlight: Eli
How long have you been a part of the lab? I've been a part of the lab since my first year as a PsyD student in 2018.
What have you learned while working in the lab? I've learned so much! I've learned about taking biological and neuropsychological measures for research participants, how to prepare posters for research conferences, and how to best peer review articles.
What is your favorite thing about William Paterson's PsyD program and working in the lab? I really appreciate how close my cohort is. I would also say that I appreciate the comradery of the lab. People really support one another, and nobody is competitive.
Where are you externing and how is it going? Last year, I was an extern at a therapeutic school for twice exceptional kids. This year, I'm externing at an organization that supports adults on the Autism Spectrum, often with comorbid mental illness. I've learned so much in both of my placements. I hope to work with kids, and I got a lot of experience with that in my first externship. In my current externship, I am able to focus more on parent training, family interventions, and treating clients with comorbid conditions.
What is a fun fact about yourself? For the past ten years, I've donated my hair every other year. I just cut off 12 inches yesterday!
