Dominique: I am a full-time GA in the WPU Office of Testing. Some of my responsibilities include proctoring exams, reviewing student transcripts to determine if incoming students are exempt from placement exams, and general administrative duties in the office. Having a GA position has truly been a wonderful experience. Not only does it allow me to focus primarily on my studies, but I have also had the opportunity to interact with other students and offices within the university. My supervisors have also been really understanding that my education and program responsibilities always come first and are always very accommodating. Overall I think it is a really great opportunity and very unique for a PsyD program to offer!

Kathryn: I work as a GA for the graduate psychology programs at WPU. During my time as GA, I've created a virtual tour video that was shown during our APA site visit, assisted with a website refresh and other necessary content updates, started an Instagram account for the program, and helped to coordinate the student meet-and-greet events during our most recent Interview Day, among many other tasks. This position has been a great opportunity to connect with other students and faculty that I may not have otherwise met or worked closely with as a first-year student in the program. My GA position has also been a great "bridge" between the work I used to do before joining the program, and my new life as a full-time student. I appreciate that my skills from previous professional experiences are well-utilized in this GA assignment, and I'm able to expand my skills in areas I'm interested in. I've been frequently asked about my work as a GA in externship interviews, so this position has been an asset to me through the externship application process as well.
