Lab Member Spotlight: Becca Kinsella

We asked first-year lab member Becca Kinsella to reflect on four questions as she begins her time in this program. This is how she answered:

  1. What are you most excited about as you enter the program?

I am most excited to be a student again. I'm looking forward to growing my clinical skillset and being exposed to new opportunities in the field.

  2. Why WPU?

I was drawn to WPU for its location in the Northeast, its small cohort size, and the incredible core faculty in the PsyD program.

  3. What are your research interests, if any, at this point in time?

As an aspiring forensic psychologist, I am interested in the validity of psychometric measures administered through interpreters to non-English speaking defendants in criminal legal cases. In particular, I am interested in how interpreter-mediated administration affects the accuracy of performance validity testing.

  4. What is your favorite hobby, or a fun fact about you?

I started long distance running in 2018 after encouragement from a friend. What started as an activity to de-stress, running became a big hobby! From 2018 to 2026, I completed 8 marathons across the world. I earned a "Six Star Medal" in April of 2026 after running the six world major marathons (New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Tokyo & Berlin).
