Lab Member Spotlight: Emilia Fonseca
We asked first-year lab member Emilia Fonseca to reflect on four questions as she begins her time in this program. This is how she answered:
What are you most excited about as you enter the program?
I am most excited for having the chance to work with advisors to design my career and prepare my clinical skills for the three practicums.
Why WPU?
Curriculum for WillyP's PsyD degree is beautifully designed to offer excellent training to a generalist Psychologist. Reputations of the core faculty are stellar, and the research interest of Dr. Chesin matched perfectly with mine. I am confident that the clinical and research experiences that I will gain can spring me forth into a noteworthy career.
What are your research interests, if any, at this point in time?
I'm interested in the implementation and testing of group and multi-system third-wave interventions for suicide prevention offered to families and communities.
What is your favorite hobby, or a fun fact about you?
Fun fact, I have had about eight different kinds of pets. Currently, I have one friendly female cat.
